I have been employed in the ECEC sector for the last 20 years. I was diagnosed with Cancer in October 2024, which was removed successfully early January 2025. Having cancer and turning 50 sent me into a mid life crisis of sorts. I stopped worked to get some personal issues sorted out and began to ponder what I wanted from this point on. In all aspects of my life I have changed a part of it. Not accepting my (adult) children treating me disrespectfully and me continuing to do everything they asked of me…not any more!! You want something from me, then show me the respect i deserve just from being your Mum. I give what I receive, if you give me nothing, I will let you slip out of my “circle”, which is very small to begin. I have decided to explore different career paths as childcare is very taxing on the body these days. I love to be able to support, help or teach others, so clearly will still be a role that includes one (1) or all of these requirements. In an ideal world I would love a position with DCP or assisting families to heal from DV or drug addiction. Domestic violence and drug addiction are two (2) of the many life experiences I have lived through myself. I consider myself to be very honest, to a fault sometimes. I am beyond loyal to those that have shown me they are there for me through both, good and bad. I have also taken up some new hobbies. I absolutely love to go fishing, I have almost every piece of equipment required to become a great Angler. I preserve through teaching myself how to tie knots and make rigs, with the help of YouTube and other online tutorials. Yet I’m still not catching fish 🎣 😂 I have also been teaching myself to do Maintance or build from scratch items needed around the house. I am getting my tool and accessories built up into a collection most blokes would be jealous of. I am using Chat GPT to learn the steps needed to do different tasks, even though I live with my 44 year old nephew who could fix or make anything. He is happy to teach me how to use tools and let me do things on my own, I do ask for help if I need it, I just don’t like having to rely on males to get jobs done. That’s me in a nutshell 🤗🫣
